John J. Immerso founded the Lexington Community Band in 2014. His music career spans over 35 years in music education and he has performed under renowned conductors like Dr. Frederick Fennell and Mr. John William.

Director and founder John Immerso leads the Lexington Community Band in song at our bi-annual concert.

John earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Education and Music Performance at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam. He has participated in notable events such as the Liberty Weekend rededication of the Statue of Liberty in 1986. John has worked as Coordinator of Music and Band Director in the Sag Harbor School District, Middle School Band Director in Patchogue-Medford, and Assistant Marching Band Director in Hauppauge. 

John was inducted into the Hicksville School District Hall of Fame in 2022. He has composed works for the U.S. Air Force Chamber Ensemble and performed at the Kennedy Center. John is married to Tracey and has five children who are active in the River Bluff High School Band program and Lexington Community Band.

The Lexington Community Band is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
