Membership
Who can join:
The Lexington Community Band welcomes professional, amateur, and former musicians to join its ranks. Membership is open to all individuals aged 16 and up. All members, with the exception of percussionists, must provide their own instruments.
We welcome local high school student members! Student members must remain in good academic standing for the duration of their membership.
How to join:
Joining the LCB is simple, just attend rehearsal! Membership dues are $20 per season. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, this fee helps us cover the cost of performance venues and various administrative expenses. See our Donations page for more information about how to support the LCB.
Proficiency:
The Lexington Community band performs classical and contemporary pieces Level 3 and higher (SCBDA solo). Some of our recent performances have included pieces from John Phillip Sousa, Brian Balmages, Robert W. Smith, Alfred Reed, and Rossano Galante.
Performances:
Any member who has paid their dues and attended 7 or more rehearsals in a given season is eligible to perform at the concert. This ensures that all performing members are well-prepared and have had ample practice time with the band.
The Lexington Community Band performs twice per year, once in the spring and once in the fall. Please see our Calendar page for more info!
